Support UCAL through leadership change!

As this GoFundMe launches, UCAL is right in the peak of transition. On one hand, there’s already been a drastic shift over the past two years. On the other, the organization is on the brink of true transformation, and we need your contribution to look forward to our beaming future. We’re dreaming, we’re taking risks, and we’re welcoming new leadership with fresh ideas. Over these transitioning months, we’ve brainstormed about deepening our community partnerships, we’ve identified numerous building renovations needed to make our building more functional and accessible, and we’ve considered how the website can be revamped for more user-friendly interaction. This year’s annual appeal campaign is crucial to launching these important projects that sustain and expand UCAL’s activities, all toward our central mission of bringing accessible arts to West Philadelphia. Will you contribute toward our $40,000 goal to make these dreams become reality? There’s so much positive evolution happening within The Arts League, and we need you to keep these wheels turning toward the future.

Change is amidst in more ways than one.... with immense gratitude for her 7 years of dedication and contribution to the Arts League, we said farewell to Annette Monnier, our Executive Director. We are thrilled to welcome Zoë Rayn, our new Executive Director, and look forward to introducing her to our UCAL community. Zoë has many expansive ideas for the Arts League and brings a focus on community-minded leadership that we can’t wait to implement. Adam Ledford, a longtime teaching artist at UCAL, joined as the new Ceramic Studio Coordinator as we said goodbye to Yvonne Lung, the amazing coordinator who transformed the studio into a second home for many community potters. And of course, like everyone else, we’re adjusting to COVID restrictions and openings as they come. In amazing news, our After School Arts Program is seeing more registrations than ever before with families eager to enrich their children in creative ways. We also had a blast celebrating our first annual West Philly Children’s Arts Jamboree in September, gathering families in music, theater, art, and storytelling in our backyard.

Please donate to our GoFundMe this year to make sure the Arts League flourishes into the future!

With gratitude,

Luisa Donovan & UCAL
