Ferris Lane Friends Forever

My childhood friends are helping me launch this campaign for medical fees. Stephanie Floros, Michael Floros, and Sheryl Fisher, circa 1968.

Please help fund the copays, unforeseen costs, and transportation fees I will need for the initial intake appointment to qualify for an off-label outpatient, largely noninvasive procedure called a Stellate Ganglion Block, a relatively new outpatient treatment.

First, I would like to thank the friends who have already helped me keep my ship afloat and showed me unexpected kindness.

As an adult, I acquired scars I carry around as PTSD, and have (broadly speaking) processed them. What is odd is that I remember my first panic attack even though I was four years old. I remember another at age eight. At age fifteen, I developed and was hospitalized with a stomach ulcer.

I’m trying to let everyone know that my body doesn’t handle routine life stresses and traumas in a normal way. Trauma (anxiety) shuts down my life; sometimes for weeks. As I age, the daily symptoms have gotten worse in spite of many expensive psychiatric treatments and schools of therapy I have paid for and tried. Hours on end, dollars on end. I’m working very hard to reduce the medications I take, especially the barbiturates. The over-amped anxiety is now expressed as extreme agoraphobia; utterly debilitating. There are even days I’m unable to watch exciting movies and television shows (which I often love). I can only watch soothing movies or rest with my eyes closed.

I believe I am an excellent candidate for this procedure though it is expensive for me.

I’d love to take the first step soon. Hopefully, I will qualify for the 1 - 4 treatment sessions that could follow.
