My name is Gretel Rodriguez and ask that you please help my family and I recover from a 3-alarm fire which occurred on September 1, 2024 as we were sleeping. We have been living in Elizabeth since 2018, have no family nearby, are now displaced, and have lost all our belongings in this devastating fire. My single father, 13-year-old sister, and I are active community members as we are part of Make the Road NJ, Elizabethport Presbyterian Center, and have intentions of staying in Elizabeth,NJ. We also lost our beloved pet, Murphy, (named after NJ Governor Phil Murphy) but are fortunate to still have each other. Your donation, of any amount, will go for relocation, medical/mental care, clothing, and helping us recover essential documents. Your help will ensure my sister can complete 8th grade and that I can say on track to graduate with my Master's degree at Rutgers University.
