Hello everyone, my name is Kayla Osborne. I’m creating this for my boyfriend. Matthew is one of the most dedicated and hard working people I know. He was an EMT for lake county for 5 years and took time off work to attend the fire academy for become a firefighter. Accomplishing this goal he was offered a job at the city of Eustis fire department. Upon the job offer he completed a pre employment physical that included a chest x-ray. He completed this 02/15/2025. We were called back that same day by the doctor who said she needs to see him back immediately. The results showed a mass in his chest. This started a weeks stay in the hospital and multiple blood tests and scans. The CT and needle biopsy confirmed a very large mass in his chest, the doctors believe it is a type of lymphoma. We have an open biopsy scheduled for March 10th to determine exactly what type of lymphoma so we can begin treatment. Doctors are estimating 6-7 months of chemotherapy and radiation. This is news that nobody ever expects. His doctor told him he will not be able to work during treatment. Any help is greatly appreciated to relieve some of the financial burden and stress. We will also be posting any updates here as we take this day by day.
