In support of Louise after Lou Rismondo’s passing

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Stephanie, the niece of Louise Rismondo. We are fundraising for emergency expenses for my aunt after the passing of her dear husband, Lou Rismondo, who died suddenly on Friday, December 22nd, just before his 66th birthday and the Christmas holiday. Lou is survived by his loving wife Louise, daughter Tiffany, stepdaughter Danielle and granddaughter Zoe Nova, as well as his beloved dogs Sophia, Luigi and Cannoli.

At the time of Lou’s passing, Louise was away in New Jersey helping her daughter with her first infant granddaughter. She knew something was wrong when Lou wasn't picking up her phone call in the morning, because they spoke every night and morning while she was away. She tragically learned of his passing after requesting a welfare check from the police department, calling 911, when he could not be reached. This last year took a big toll on Lou’s health, which was quite compromised with heart and kidney issues and diabetes. Still Louise took diligent care of him, ensuring he was receiving the best care possible even from afar when she was helping take care of their granddaughter. Just speaking to Lou on the phone the night before, she was not prepared for him to be gone so suddenly.

The pandemic proved very hard for Lou and Louise, who were both forced into early retirement due to the pandemic. Now with the loss of Lou, unpaid medical bills, memorial services across state lines and legal fees to secure all of his financial matters, Louise is making the tough decision of leaving their house in Florida to move back to New Jersey to be closer to family. We are seeking help from family and the community of those who know and love Louise to lessen the financial burden of the move, mounting medical bills and funeral services. Because of Lou's list of comorbidities, he never qualified for life insurance, which could have alleviated some of these costs.

Louise and Lou's story began in the summer of 2008. They created a life together with their two beloved dogs Sophia and Luigi, who was Lou's shadow. In the fall of 2015, they accomplished a dream of theirs by moving to Palm Coast, Florida, and enjoying the sun and warm weather. They married on December 16, 2016, and also added to their dog-family with the addition of Cannoli.

At the time they met, it was known that Lou's diabetes was very severe, and he always credited Louise with keeping him as healthy as possible. It was her influence that cleaned up his diet. She also made all of his doctor appointments and diligently encouraged him throughout the years. He often said she added years to his life. Then suddenly, with the onset of the pandemic, both Lou and Louise were forced into early retirement. They lost their jobs, but they held onto each other, their home and the life they created in Florida all these years.

During this really hard time for our friend and family member Louise, may we all lend a helping hand and to ease the stress and terrible burden of such a devastating loss. We will keep all family and friends abreast of the dates for Lou's memorial in Florida and Pennsylvania that is pending.
