Hurricane Helene Damage Relief Fund for Shonna
Donation protected
- Greetings, I am Sherwood Shankland, living in Wake Forest, NC, father of Shonna Campbell, who is safe at her home in Asheville, North Carolina. Her daughter, Leah, is also safe at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Shonna's mountain property was deluged with 18 inches of rain two days prior to Helene arriving with 18 more inches. Thankfully, the house itself was not damaged, but two landslides in her yard have exposed the septic tank and blocked the driveway. She has survived without electricity or water for two weeks. Her yoga classes at the Y are canceled until building repairs are made. Her massage therapy business is also closed indefinitely. Her spirit is strong, but she needs a financial boost right now to cover her mortgage payments, groceries, and extensive landscaping repairs. Her home insurance has declined assistance, and she has applied for $750 from FEMA.
- So, here we go... I am starting Shonna's funding support with $500 and invite you to join me as she recovers from the physical and emotional disruption from this devastating storm. Thanks in advance for any level of support you are able to share.
- Note: Shonna asks that we do not forward this GoFundMe to other friends in the Asheville area, many of whom are also suffering greatly.
