Empowering Survivors on Their Recovery Journey

My name is David York, and I am a survivor of two brain aneurysms, one of which ruptured and left me in a coma with a severe brain bleed. That rupture led to a massive stroke that forever changed my life.
Through faith, rehabilitation, and the grace of God, I survived. And while my journey has been difficult—learning to walk again, speak again, and navigate a new normal—it has also been filled with blessings.
Chief among them is the calling I now feel: to use my experience to help others who are just beginning their own recovery journey.
That’s why I created my ministry, From Stroke to Hope. My goal is simple but powerful:
- To encourage fellow stroke, brain injury, and aneurysm survivors through kind words, a listening ear, and shared faith.
- To provide survivors and their families with resources I wish I’d had—organized lists of hospitals and rehabilitation centers, practical articles on technology, nutrition, and adaptive living, and a prayer wall where intentions are lifted up daily.
- To share my books, reflections, and hard-won lessons freely with those who need them most.
But this ministry can’t grow without support. That’s where you come in.
