My name Chai, and I’m reaching out because I recently experienced a traumatic car accident that left me with a concussion and a badly swollen, bloody nose. As a trans woman, the aftermath was even more difficult. When I told the EMTs my pronouns were she/her, they ignored me and used the wrong ones on all the paperwork. They also told the hospital staff that I wasn’t bleeding, even though I had blood running down my face, pooling onto my chest This discrimination made an already painful situation so much harder to bear. I suffered a concussion and a severe trauma to the tissue around my nose cause it to swell.
I work as a dancer, and right now, I can’t perform or earn an income while I recover. I need a cushion for medical bills and to keep myself housed. as well as support for physical therapy and wellness care to heal both physically and emotionally. Not being able to dance means I have no way to support myself during this time, and it’s been overwhelming to face these challenges alone.
Any support means the world to me right now. If you’re able to donate or share my story, you’ll be helping me cover my medical expenses, therapy, and basic living costs while I recover. Your kindness and solidarity will help me heal and get back on my feet. Thank you for standing with me.
