Recently, our family received the heart-dropping news that Bonnie has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and lung cancer. The symptoms started suddenly when she began losing her ability to speak clearly. Though her memory is completely intact and she knows exactly what she wants to say, the brain tumor is located in the area that controls speech, causing her words to come out mixed up. Beyond the impact on her speech, she is currently having difficulties to perform simple tasks on her own. As you can imagine, this has been incredibly scary and frustrating for her.
What’s Happening Now
Since that day, everything has moved terribly fast. She has been through a whirlwind of appointments and testing.
• Brain Surgery: Doctors have scheduled brain surgery for this upcoming week to remove the mass.
• Lung Biopsy: We are currently waiting on a biopsy to determine the type and stage of her lung cancer so we can figure out the next steps for treatment. Right now, she can still communicate, but it takes immense effort and is incredibly frustrating for her.
How You Can Help
We are still waiting to find out what the total financial toll will be, but we know there will be significant expenses from her upcoming surgery, hospital stays, testing, and ongoing treatments. Any donation, no matter how small, goes directly toward her medical care and takes a massive weight off her shoulders. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping Bonnie in your thoughts and prayers means the world to us. Thank you for your kindness during this hard time.
