Support Ahmed from Gaza

Imagine if you were trapped in the world’s “largest open-air prison”, a sitting duck for the Israeli regime to bombard you and your loved ones with their state-of-the art weapons? Then imagine if you had no job, were injured and had dwindling hope in a future?

Meet Ahmed Khalil, a 27 year-old man, born and bred in the Gaza Strip. He and his family of ten are currently restricted and controlled by the stifling siege on Gaza by the Israeli government as collective punishment for the two million Palestinians who live there, 50% of whom are children. They are refugees within their own country, their ancestors violently displaced from Sarafand Al-Amar in 1948, a village on the coastal plain of Palestine.

Ahmed is a talented soccer player, but due to extensive injury that occurred in the 2008 bombardment of Gaza, has had to retire early from playing. Having not completed his schooling to pursue soccer, he has since joined the 47% of unemployed Palestinians in Gaza.

Ahmed is willing to work in whatever trade can help him lead a decent life, hoping to one day be able to leave Gaza either for travel or for work (tourism is not a valid reason for leaving Gaza according to the occupation). He is currently looking after his sick mother too. He just needs some help to get started with employment.

Let’s help Ahmed financially get on his feet and start a business or trade in Gaza. Collectively, we can make a difference to help this young man kick start his independence. He represents the future of Gaza.
