Support 9-Year-Old Elena’s Battle Against Lymphoma
Donation protected
After ringing in the New Year, our dear friends Tony and Phoebe received devastating news that no parent should ever have to hear: their 9-year-old daughter, Elena, has been diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
What began as simple complaints of knee pain quickly turned into something far more serious. Despite several doctor visits, the cause of Elena’s pain went undiagnosed. A few weeks ago, her leg began to swell, prompting an emergency biopsy. Within days, the family received the heartbreaking news—Elena has cancer.
Since then, Elena has been in and out of the hospital for tests and treatments. She was admitted to Kaiser Hospital on January 8th and will begin inpatient chemotherapy on January 9th. Elena now faces months of intensive treatment, and her father, Tony, has been by her side every step of the way. Tony, an Uber driver, has had to take time off to care for Elena, and he will need to continue to be with her for the next six months.
Elena’s mother, Phoebe, works as an accounting clerk and is also seeking time off to care for their 7-year-old son, Stephen, while Tony stays with Elena. As a family, they are facing not only the emotional and physical toll of this diagnosis, but also the financial strain of lost wages and additional caregiving responsibilities.
We are asking for your support to help ease some of the financial burdens they are facing during this incredibly difficult time. Your donations will go toward medical expenses, lost wages, and daily costs as they focus on Elena’s recovery. Any amount you can contribute will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your support, love, and prayers for Elena and her family as they navigate this challenging journey.
