86Box is an x86 retro PC emulator, with supported platforms ranging from the Intel 8088 to processors as recent as the Pentium II. For the past decade, we have become the go-to cross-platform solution for emulating a wide variety of platforms and hardware, ranging from graphics cards such as the 3Dfx Voodoo line and IBM 8514/A to sound cards such as the Ad Lib and Sound Blaster series. In the future, we plan to add support for NEC PC-98, ATi Rage 128 and eventually Tandy VIS.

As of 2022, we have officially begun supporting macOS and Linux operating systems. While Linux development has mainly remained manageable, we have faced serious difficulties supporting macOS due to the lack of Apple Silicon hardware available to us, which may limit our ability to guarantee continued macOS support in the future.

These funds will be used to purchase Mac hardware that will be distributed across the team as fit.
