Support 66 children in school in The Gambia!

Hello, my name is Karen and I am supporting this charity in honor of my very best friend, Edna Best, who I lost two years ago on the 13th of June 2023. She believed in using education as a way to a better life and she loved children. So when I was introduced to someone about a charity in Gambia, I decided to go over to check it out last year.

Background: I got married in Gambia and of course my bestie had to come and be my bridesmaid at the wedding. Edna loved Gambia, the food, the weather, the people and because of that I said yes!

SESI (Sunshine Education Support Initiative) supports 66 children, at the moment, in education for a year. It provides each determined child with 2 new uniforms, school equipment, backpacks, all the books they need and their school fees. In Edna's honor, I am asking for donations to continue this work as I know it's something that she would be very proud to support.

It costs £7,000 per year to support all 66 children and that's the amount or more that I'm hoping to raise by September. It is a joy to see the children thrive and gain confidence in their future. I hope that you will join in, whether it is a donation of 10p, £10.00 or more. Every donation is welcomed. I will be giving you more information, updates and photos along the way. I'm also going to do something crazy as a sponsored event, to start this quest with a bang!
