Support 4 Stew
On Sept 6th Stew was riding his bike home from a concert at Red Butte Gardens with his roommates and friends. While passing some traffic he clipped his handlebar on a car mirror which sent him face-first into the trailer hitch of the car in front. He sustained some heavy injuries including multiple facial fractures, 8 lost teeth, a concussion and a broken vertebrae in his neck. He was fortunate enough to retain movement, eyesight and his sense of humor, but still has a long road to recovery in front of him. As his friends, we are hoping to raise some money to help Stew get back on his feet.
Doctors estimate that he'll be in a neck brace for 3+ months, will need multiple surgeries to reconstruct his face and signature smile.
Many of us have benefited from Stew's handiness with a wrench, ability to make anyone laugh and generosity. Stew probably wouldn't let us start this account for him if he knew about it, but as his friends we'd love to help Stew get back on his feet.
Any donations will be given to his parents, who will use the money to help pay for Stew's massive medical bills, recuperative therapy and inability to work while he recovers. Unfortunately, Stew did not have health insurance at the time of the accident, but is certainly pursuing all his options to get medical bills covered.
Stew would appreciate people that can help him find way to stay positive over the next few months, opportunities to earn money without physical labor or even just a hug or a text.
Please reach out to friends, family, and our massive bicycle community in SLC. Every bit helps, and will be greatly appreciated.
Currently looking for a good dentistto recommend to Stew, reach out if you know anyone who may be able to help him out with implants
