Hi, we are Megan Shardlow, Caitlin Shardlow and Justin White - 3 local powerlifters who recently qualified to represent Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships this September in Canada
We are very proud to have earned this opportunity and are self-funding as much of the trip as possible however, we are seeking some extra support to help cover the cost which will be split evenly
Any contribution big or small, would make a huge difference in helping us get to the platform and represent our country
We've each shared a short piece of our journey below:
Megan - "To get to represent my country on the international stage for a 3rd time is an honour and wouldn't be possible without the help and support shown over the years. As a female strength coach I hope to inspire other women to embrace strength training and discover what you're actually capable of - Who knows where it can take you!"
Cait - "I found powerlifting at the start of my fitness journey in 2024, and after watching my sister compete in South Africa that same year, I set myself the goal of competing at the next Commonwealths. Now I'm here and the opportunity to compete for my country is genuinely a dream come true. Powerlifting has become a huge part of my life and I've put so much work in to get to this point - any support is extremely appreciated!"
Justin - "I enjoy being physically active through powerlifting, strength training (for the mental and physical benefits) and playing/coaching football. I have competed in several local competitions and wish to succeed in this sport. My fitness journey has helped me achieve massive things and I wish to achieve more in my first international competition "
Thank you for supporting our journey, whether that's through donations or sharing our fundraiser - every effort is greatly appreciated!
