We are three dedicated nurses who have devoted our careers to caring for others and bringing new life into the world. Today, we find ourselves in an unexpected and deeply difficult position. We were recently wrongfully terminated and are currently awaiting arbitration to fight for our jobs and our professional reputations. While we remain hopeful that the truth will prevail, the process takes time—and in the meantime, we are without income.
For the past four weeks, we have had no paychecks and no unemployment benefits, and there is no clear timeline for when financial support will begin. Two of us just returned from maternity leave and are caring for babies who are not even a year old. The third nurse recently purchased a home in New York City, committing to a future built on a stable career that was suddenly taken away. Living in one of the most expensive cities in the country without an income has created an overwhelming financial strain for all of us.
We love our profession and the families we have cared for. Our goal is to return to the work we are passionate about—supporting mothers, newborns, and our community. Until arbitration is resolved, we are simply trying to stay afloat: covering rent or mortgages, utilities, groceries, health insurance, and basic living expenses.
Any support you can offer—whether through a donation or by sharing our story—means more than we can express. Your kindness will help us care for our families and remain stable while we fight to clear our names and return to the careers we love. Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly challenging time
With thanks,
Berina, Lily, and Jen
