Hey there!
My name is Kacey, the face behind 1down.636.
As some of you already know, I've recently been involved in a collision that has claimed the life of my beloved 2024 Kawasaki zx6r 636. This accident was unavoidable, was not caused by myself, and there currently are background efforts to resolve the issue legally and civilly.
Every rider is aware of the risks involved. We can ride as safely as we can, but that doesn't always mitigate the negligence of those around us.
She is deemed total loss as a result of a party in a vehicle failing to make the correct judgment on timing in their efforts to cross all lanes. This was at relatively low speeds, but it was still enough to cause frame damage.
I was wearing all of my gear. My helmet saved my life. It takes just one misstep to derail any future plans.
If you know enough of my story, you know how deeply attached to my 636 i have become. As it is to most other riders, my motorcycle is and was a source of uplifting positivity, regardless of the day i may have had. It was a symbol for new beginnings, and an amazing tool for unlocking new achievements, as an individual who only wanted to enjoy life to the fullest.
I truly appreciate all support I have received, over the last few months and still to this day. As much as i dislike to ask, i believe this is a point where i must recognize the need for help.
I, like most others, need to cover my medical bills and my daily living expenses. I do live alone. I do plan to replace my beloved 636 as soon as I am able. But until then, I would ask for support.
If you are able, please support my journey back on two. This includes well wishes. Your caring words are undoubtedly the most heart warming catalyst that keeps the fire within me growing.
I'm lucky to be awake and walking after suffering multiple internal brain bleeds. Sadly, all i can think about is the empty space where my beloved 636 used to wait for me, every day.
Please don't feel pressured by any means, kind words are just as well. I will be doing my best to return to the life that makes me feel the most joy.
If you ride, please ride safely.
If you do not ride yet, know this is an isolated incident and is not indicative of a situation that you might experience. Things just happen, and it's important to keep your head up when they do.
Best,
Kacey
