In 2010, Marly’s Milestones was founded by Stacy and Jeff Mager after their daughter Marly suffered an in utero stroke at birth. Doctors explained that the stroke had caused significant damage to critical areas of Marly’s brain, and that she would require extensive physical, occupational, speech, and vision therapy to have a chance at reaching her full potential. Despite having A-rated medical insurance, Stacy and Jeff quickly learned that obtaining consistent therapeutic services was both extraordinarily difficult and prohibitively expensive. Many of the therapies Marly needed were not covered, forcing them to pay nearly everything out of pocket. Before long, every financial resource had been exhausted—and Marly’s parents were faced with the heartbreaking reality that they could not afford the care their daughter so desperately needed. Out of that moment of crisis, Marly’s Milestones was born.
Now, sixteen years later, thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters, Marly’s Milestones has grown beyond one child. The organization has helped sponsor countless children with similar disabilities, providing access to life-changing therapies that families otherwise could not afford. Marly’s Milestones exists to ensure that no child is denied critical therapeutic services due to financial hardship. Funds raised through this campaign will help sponsor more children and cover the costs of specific therapies that are not otherwise accessible to families in need.
Every donation-and every share-directly supports this mission. Your support makes real progress possible, and without it, Marly and so many children like her would not be where they are today. Thank you for helping us continue this important work and for believing in the potential of every child.
