Support 100 Rural Teachers in South Sudan

I’m an educator and founder of Ikan Academy Group a non profit organization. IKan was founded on the belief that education is the most powerful tool for change. We are building a network of educators and schools that provide holistic education tailored to the needs of the African continent.

I’m volunteering my time to support teachers working in some of the most underserved areas of South Sudan.

We are working in partnership with South Sudan Grassroot Initiative Development, a local organization that began its critical work on the ground using limited resources to uplift rural schools and teachers across Tonj Town, Tonj Payam, Tonj South County, and Wargir village.

Started 20th April 2025 we launched an eight-month teacher pilot programme to support 100 rural teachers who currently work with no training, little to no learning materials, and no access to the internet.

With your help, we will provide:

- In-person and digital teacher training

- Development of locally relevant teaching materials

- Transport stipends and internet/data access

- A dedicated volunteer outreach team

- Monthly mentoring and support

We are raising Support 100 Rural Teachers in South Sudan £4,000 to fully support this initiative. Here’s how your donation helps:

- £10 = Transport for one teacher

- £20= Internet/data for one teacher

- £40 = Full 8-month support for one teacher

-£100 = Training materials for 5 teachers

- £400 = Cluster support for 10 teachers

We’ll share regular updates, impact stories, and a full donor report in early 2026.
