Supper's Ready Live

Hi! I'm Baie McFadden, I am the creator and producer of Supper's Ready Live, as well as lead singer. This is a passion project that has been in the works for a few years and is finally coming together.
SRL is a fusion rock concert and dance performance, bringing the iconic Genesis masterpiece to life. The performance will be taking place on Saturday, August 23rd at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre in Hamilton Ontario.

My co-producers and main collaborators are;
Choreographger Giselle Magie, and Drummer/Musical Director Ben Culver.
Giselle and I have been working on the choreography since 2024, and her ability to create brilliant steps that perfectly reflect my intentions has been a major asset.
Ben has been my main supporter throughout the entire process, from conceptualization to execution. His musical expertise and talent have made this project possible.

Our dancers are a group of extremely talented performers from across the GTA,
Skye Rogers, Abigail Yates, Vik Mudge, Katerina Wu, Abbey Hanson, Jane-Leigh Jamieson, Kestra McCurry, and Ella Quinn. They will begin rehearsals in early August.

We are also excited to have secured some of my favourite musicians to play this complex and vivid tune, guitarist Jesse Luciani, bassist Zayd Nawaz, and keys player Timothy Burger.

The inspiration for this project occurred over the course of several lonely train rides across Southern Ontario. My interest in and appreciation for the music of Peter Gabriel and Genesis had been growing for a year, and had changed my perspective on artistry and expression. The music is a fusion of harmonically dense and rhythmically complex musical sensibility like that of classical orchestral compositions, with innovative instrumental textures and effects, and a post rock-n-roll high theatre flavour. I found Supper’s Ready particularly compelling. Lyrically the piece paints a striking and highly interpretable story of love, loss of agency, religious zealotry, war mongering, mania, apocalypse, and return to form: a menage of themes that inspire intrigue and exploration. It was during those train rides that the images of dancers embodying the bizarre collection of themes in this epic piece came to me. Having a theatre background, I was drawn to the high dramatic flair of progressive rock in general, and in particular the creative sensibilities of Peter Gabriel with his distinct stage presence and use of costumes. I became inspired to create a way to develop the music and concepts in a way that explores my personal connection to the material and shares it with others

This is a self funded project, but unfortunately I can't provide all of the money entirely on my own, which is why I've created this page.

Expenses include:
Admin fees (for Giselle and Ben)
Venue fees
Rehearsal space fees
Artist fees for dancers and musicians
Travel fees
Marketing and advertising
Costuming
Music liscencing

Many more people have made contributions to this project, financial, creative, and advisory, for which I am eternally grateful. Donations of any size to this fundraiser will help so very much to make this performance as excellent as it can be, and support arts and culture in Hamilton.
