Superstar Kate

I never thought I’d be typing that Kate my beautiful, vibrant sister has cancer but this is the period of life we are in. What started off as a rare tumor has quickly spread into her ovaries, uterus and abdomen. After several sessions of chemo therapy we were bombarded with the news that it was not working. She has recently undergone major open surgery on her stomach with a treatment that essentially bathes her abdomen in a different type of chemo. There are still tumors left that the surgeons were not able to remove without dramatically affecting the quality of her life.

Kate is currently at the hospital healing from the surgery and next she will be undergoing another round of chemotherapy. The next steps are unknown but all I can say is this really helps ease a part of this journey which is medical bills.

I didn’t know what amount to put as each day we are learning more and more news of what treatment will look like for Kate.

I would love to surpass this goal, you know I come from a family of overachievers, but please know that everything and anything helps.

When there is darkness Kate is the light. When there is pain Kate is the joy. When there is turmoil Kate is the calm.
