Super Girl's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On July 21 my niece Scarlett was playing outside with her mother. Tasha went to unlock the garage and when she turned around Scarlett was gone. Tasha acted quickly and was able to enlist the help of a neighbor to assist in locating Scarlett. He found her submerged in a neighbors landscaping pond. Scarlett was unresponsive. He quickly pulled her out was able to revive her by perfroming CPR.
Scarlett was rushed to D1 and then air lifted to Childrens Hospital in Minneapolis. Initially Scarlett was sedated while various scans could be done and her health and breathing monitered and regulated while her lungs were cleared of debris. She was taken off the sedation a few days after being admitted but remained there for a week while she recovered before the doctors gave her the all clear to come home. Scarlett is expected to make a full recovery and her spunky personality is already back in full!
Both Nate and Tasha have been off of work while Scarlett was in the hospital, neither wanting to leave her side. Also during this time Nate's mother was hospitalized with pneumonia complicated by Stage 4 lyphatic lung cancer. She has since returned home and been placed on Hospice care.
I believe Nate and Natasha are deserving of so much. This has been an extremely difficult time for our family and though Scarlett is doing amazing, now it is time to face the hardships and financial realities that come with family trauma and emergencies. Though they do have insurance, there will be extensive medical bills and lost wages to compensate for, and our trials are not over as we as a family prepare to say goodbye to our mother, Jane.
We are so grateful for the time that we have left with our mother and ever blessed that Scarlett is back home where she belongs and able to share her love with us all but especially her grandmother.
As well as your prayers and positive thoughts toward our familiy I would like to raise money to help ease the financial burden of Scarletts prolonged hospital stay as well as enough money so that Nate and Tasha are able to purchase and erect a fence around their yard.
