Supernature Connections: Finding Freedom in Nature

Years ago, a dream began of long-distance hiking across my country of Canada. I've changed and added to the reasons why this is an important thing do, and looked at not only what it could accomplish internally, but externally as well. The goal of increasing perspectives of connection to nature is what I circle around. This project hopes to collect research and footage that can be creatively translated to form new or stronger nature-based mindsets, empathy, understandings, and connections. These supernature connections can be a part of our daily lives, decisions, and views! What might be helped or changed with a closer sense to nature in society? Can an incredible journey of looking down low at both footprints and pawprints show how we are all connected and belong as part of nature?

My name is Jesse, AKA Supernaturegirl, and I come with an unbearably adorable pawtner in crime. Miss Daisy Maple is a fiery calico who found me last summer. She is tough, stubborn, feisty, and loves outdoor adventures. Together, we are 2 supernature girls hoping to dive into research questions, create an artistic and educational expression, and make this dream happen! A cat is not a typical hiking partner, so this journey will be silly, slow, unique, and possibly insane. These are often the ingredients that make a great adventure and few things are impossible if you have some help.

I am calling any fellow dreamers, adventurers, explorers, animal lovers and nature lovers. Anyone who questions and wonders, imagines or wishes nature connections were more prevalent in our world. Anything helps! This is a long-term plan and it will take years, but this is a start towards making it happen. Decent equipment, supplies, and a small camper van are the main needs (along with an adventure-seeking driver). Extra costs, time, and complications are anticipated, and Miss Daisy will only walk what she can. We have hope though and believe this could be a chance to make a difference for nature in a unique way.
