Supermarket 86 at the New York Theatre Festival
Donation protected
Hello everyone!!!! So glad you found your way to this fundraising page! Some of you may know me, and others may not, but my name is Mia Pelosi and I'm an actor and writer based in New York City originally from St. Helena, California. I am SO stoked to announce that my original play, Supermarket 86, is making its NYC debut! It originated last winter at NYU, in the Experimental Theater Wing and I'm feeling so grateful it gets another set of wings as part of the New York Theatre Festival. AND my amazing hometown bestie Lucy Harrington is directing!! We haven't done theatre together for six years, so this feels incredibly full circle.
SuperMarket 86 follows a cashier and 4 girls who get unexpectedly stuck in a supermarket together during a snowstorm. Two of them are exes, and all of them somehow, in some way, know each other.
We are so fortunate that the NYTF is providing us with a wonderful space to share this play, but unfortunately they do not provide any financial support for rehearsal spaces, props, lighting, etc. So, we are seeking financial support to produce this play!
Most of our expenditures will go towards renting a rehearsal space, which are in high demand, as well as providing a stipend to an intimacy director and lighting designer along with small prop and costume pieces. We thank you a million times over for helping support this production, and we can't wait to share it with you!
We hope you will all come join us for performances, the show runs October 10th, 11th and 14th at the Theater Latea on 107 Suffolk Street in New York, NY. You can find tickets HERE
