Colton's Medical Fund
Donation protected
The family of Brynn and Teresa Childers has set up a fund to help raise money for Colton's medical expenses and other living expenses for the family while Colton is in the hospital and throughout his recovery process.
On January 3, 2015 Brynn and Teresa recieved a call that they had looked forward to and dreaded all at the same time. A new liver had been located for Colton, and it was time for the transplant. On January 4, 2015 at 6:15am Colton was taken back for surgery. The surgery went very well and all was looking good until January 8, 2015 when Colton started feeling bad and it appeared that he had an infection. As Colton began to feel worse the team of doctors started running more tests and on January 10, 2015 found that Colton's new liver was not getting blood flow, and it was starting to shut down. Colton was then placed as priority on the waiting list again for another liver and by 9:15pm on January 10, 2015 Colton was taken back for yet another liver transplant.
Colton has a long recovery ahead of him as his little body has been through so much in such a short period of time. The doctors estimate that Colton will be in the hospital for at least three months as he heals and his body starts to become accustomed to his new liver.
"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God - you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration - what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day. Your thoughts - how rare, how beautiful! God, I'll never comprehend them!" -Psalm 139:13-17, MSG
