"Superman" Kicking Cancer's Butt
Donation protected
In Sep '20 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. On 9/28/20 I had surgery to remove the isolated (thank god) mass and part of my large intestine. I then began 6 months of chemo treatment in Nov '20. My last treatment is tentatively scheduled for 4/9/21 -- and I plan to shed some happy tears ringing that bell loud and proud.
Unfortunately, even with health insurance, with the cost of the surgery, CT scans, two different chemo drugs, treatment costs, etc...I'm beginning to feel suffocated by all the uncovered medical bills.
Folks have suggested to me numerous times to set up a GoFundMe but I had been reluctant because I did not feel comfortable asking for donations (still don't).
Then, a dear friend recently told me, "Look, there are really good people out there that may find it as a blessing to help you by donating, and by you not at least proposing the idea to these amazing people, you are depriving them of a wonderful opportunity to help." This really hit me -- I immediately thought that if roles were reversed and a dear friend was in my situation and needed help...I'd do what I could to help him/her, no questions asked.
That's my story. I would be touched/honored/grateful for any support (financial via this service or moral by reaching out to me via phone/text/email/social media.
If you read the above and got this far, I want to personally thank you for reading my story and cheering me on in any way you so choose to do so.
Warmest regards,
Doug
