Superhero Sophia medical and travel fund

Hi, my name is Heather. My daughter Sophia has been sick since Jan of 2022. She contracted covid for the second time on Jan 3rd. She only had a stuffy nose, but then 8 days later, we ended up in the emergency room in Mahoning Valley. She said she was having chest pain. They did not find anything and discharged us home. Two days later, we were back, this time with stomach pain, high in the stomach area, so we think that's why she felt it was her chest. We were fortunate to have an excellent Emergency Room Doctor. She ordered labs and an ultrasound which were all normal. She then said I feel like something is wrong. Her workup is not matched how sick she looks. She asked if she could do a cat scan. We, of course, said yes. Things went fast in the er with testing and results then all sudden, everything went to a crawl. We waited for two hours for the results. Then a new doctor came in. She said that her results showed median arcuate ligament syndrome. (MALS). They were making her an appointment with a local surgeon.

Fast forward to surgery in Columbus at Nationwide hospital on 4/1/22. She had major complications and spent 18 days in the hospital. She did slowly get better! Then she got worse..... we attempted a family vacation at the end of July 2022. She got sick with covid for the 3rd time. She spent a week in the hospital with another set of issues. She started passing out randomly. They think dysautonomia of some kind. Lack of appetite. Losing weight. Stomach hurting. It all started again but with some twists and turns.

Currently, we are going through testing again. We are reaching out to so many other warriors with this condition. All of our care is at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The hospital is almost 3 hours from us. We do stay the night usually when she has appointments.

Anything raised will be used for travel and medical bills to find answers for Superhero Sophia.
