Hi, my name is Laura, and I’m reaching out to fundraise for my dear friend Nadia and her partner Vic.

Nadia and Vic have shown incredible strength and resilience over the years, especially since Nadia’s life changed dramatically six years ago when she was faced with a devastating diagnosis.

Nadia has always been a bright light in every room — the life of the party, the one who brings people together. She's known for her courage, warmth, infectious smile, and generous spirit. Whether she’s baking cookies for her clients or lending a listening ear, she brings kindness and positivity wherever she goes. She's a true fighter who has always faced life’s challenges head-on, never letting them dim her light.

Today, Nadia continues to fight. After multiple surgeries to remove a tumor she affectionately calls “Terry” from her spine, her condition has worsened. The tumor continues to grow, and she now relies on a wheelchair 99% of the time, having lost feeling from the waist down. She is in constant pain with very little relief from steroids (in addition to a multitude of other drugs). This has increased her water retention, resulting in her mental health taking a beating.

On top of this, she’s battling a foot infection that has become increasingly difficult to treat due to complications.

Currently Nadia is waiting for a trial drug to arrive from Philadelphia which may or may not have an effect on the tumour.

Vic and Nadia currently live in a two-story home, which is no longer suitable or safe for Nadia. Navigating the stairs has become a serious risk, making it impossible for her to return home safely in its current condition.

Nadia works 5 days a week - mainly from home or currently from the hospital bed.

We’re fundraising to help adapt their living situation to better support Nadia’s needs — to give her a safe, accessible environment that improves her quality of life. These funds will also provide Vic with some much-needed respite and support, helping him stay strong as they both prepare for what may be an even more challenging road ahead.
