Super Typhoon Rai Recovery in Cebu, Philippines
Donation protected
Rai (or Odette as it is known locally) caused massive destruction across several islands in the Philippines, resulting in nearly 400 deaths, thousands of injuries, and left hundreds of thousands of people homeless and lacking food and safe water. While there are numerous relief efforts at the government level, we want to directly help our friends and colleagues at the Office of Population Studies Foundation, Inc (OPS) at the University of San Carlos in Cebu. I am a faculty member at the University of North Carolina, and have had a nearly 40-year relationship with OPS to conduct important research on maternal and child health in Cebu. Funds will benefit those in need at OPS as well as local communities. OPS has a long history of community outreach in response to the numerous natural disasters that have affected the Philippines. Please donate what you can, trusting that funds will be wisely spent to help those most in need.
