On Friday June 21, 2019. Uncle Steve was on his way home from work. He missed his turn, so he turned around in a parking lot in St. Paul. He had a seizure while turning back onto the road. The man behind him, called 911 and he was transported to St. Johns in Maplewood. A series of tests were done. They found several lesions on his brain that were cancerous. He was admitted to the hospital and more tests were done. On Saturday, June 22, we learned that the cancer originated in the lungs. Steve has Stage 4 Terminal Lung Cancer that has spread to his brain.
As stated, he was at work, both Kris and Steve were working full time. Kris recently had a back injury and was waiting to hear about surgery. She will be receiving cortisone shots for the time being to buy her some time. Steve also enjoyed working out and had done so the Wednesday before this all began. They are active and otherwise both very healthy. They have worked their entire life not only to support their family, but because they truly enjoyed their jobs. They found joy in working and helping others. As a family, we have an immense faith in God, and know that He is the driver and His Will, will be done.
It is time now to rally around them and help in any way we can. To help alleviate some of the financial burden on their shoulders with medical costs, which are already adding up in the last 2 weeks.
There are 3 things you can do.
1. Pray
2. Donate
3. Share with anyone who will pray or donate
After hearing all of this devastating news, they have decided to trust in God and enjoy the time they have together with their family and friends. Steve is no longer able to work and Kris has chosen to retire to provide care for him. Thank you in advance for your time, your prayers and for your generosity.
