Super Nicholas Fund - Battling Kidney Failure

Our sweet boy, Nicholas (age 10) was born with kidney disease. He is now in end stage renal failure. Nicholas needs dialysis treatments (3 hours per day for 3 days per week) at Boston Children's Hospital. He needs this to live while we anxiously wait for a kidney transplant. Nicholas receives his dialysis through a catheter surgically implanted in his chest. This poses many risks within itself. It has been a long road during his short life, and now he faces a difficult battle that no child should have to face.    

Kidney failure is a life-long illness. Even after Nicholas receives a new kidney, the lifespan of a donated kidney averages 10 -15 years. He will need life-long treatment and more kidney transplants through out his life.  

This fund is to help with medical expenses and expenses related to his treatment, along with multiple unexpected costs resulting from many missed days of work, to allow mom and dad to be by Nicholas's side. Vacation and sick days have been exhausted, so this raises more of a financial burden. Some expenses include: transportation, parking, meals, co-payments, prescriptions, and surgical procedures as well as off-setting the effects of not collecting a paycheck for several weeks while Nicholas will be recovering from surgery. Also, for post-op appointments not covered by vacation or personal time.
