Hello, my name is Matthew and I am fundraising for my best friend, and one of the greatest people that has ever been produced in this world
Paul Fendrick and is awesome wife Anne have resided in Bradenton Florida for 25+ years. Both transplants from North Tonawanda, New York. I met them shortly after I arrived in Florida around the same time..
My friend is one of the if not the most honest, hard-working, kind, compassionate, funniest people ever created! And his wife outdoes him in all categories!!!!
On the morning of Saturday, April 13, 2024 at approximately 8:05 is where this saga begins.....
Paul and I were scheduled to go help a friend which is a frequent on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Always willing to give his time to help others, we had discussed the night before a pick up time.
We both opted for let's talk in the morning, so neither had to set an alarm.
Around 8:15 AM I sent a text to Pauly that I would be departing my home for an approximate arrival at his house around 9 AM.
10 minutes later and no reply absolutely assured me something was amiss...
Paulys responsibilities at his full-time work did not require him to but even after hours calls or texts were immediately responded to..... And that fact, also held true with family and friends!!
At 8:45 I finally heard from my friend.... Phone call is the reason I have started this GoFundMe for the two greatest people this world will ever produce!
  • Anne and Pauly started the morning on the back porch of the very modest home in Bradenton Florida. Weekdays Pauly is generally off to work prior to sunrise so it is Anne who gets to enjoy the tranquility of their awesome backyard. Self landscaped, very active birdfeeders and a certain peace as you know there is only love allowed in that space.
Shortly after they sat down, my friend's wife of 25+ years, who up to that point had never shown signs of any internal issues, looked at her husband and said"I don't feel well":-(
Followed by several short, labored breaths she then slumped over in her chair.
My friend Pauly, then reacted in a far calmer and rational way than I can even imagine...
He immediately tended to his wife, called 911 to report "no pulse"......
Pauly was directed to begin to perform chest compressions. He had recently successfully completed a CPR class at his employer.( a true blessing)
For what must've seem like an eternity, Mr. Fendrick performed this task for what we now know was successful and life-saving!!
Upon the ambulance arrival, they also found no pulse. A defibrillator was placed on Annes chest and shock was administered restarting the rhythm of one of the best hearts ever created.
I could go on for multiple pages of the kind act and goodness these two represent but alas, that is not even the basis for my donation request for these two amazing humans
Pauly and Anne do not live extravagantly, they have worked hard for all they have and appreciate what they have achieved.
A number of years ago they made the decision to medically insure they're two kids, but realized to add Anne would've cut into their basics budget. So Anne Fendrick was one of the many uninsured individuals in today's America
Without going into my anger with insurance coverage in America today, and not wanting to release any sensitive medical information about Anne, suffice to say.....
My brother saved his wife of 25 years life, did and has always done whatever had been asked of him, and is now going to be saddled with medical bills that will haunt him the rest of his life.
In addition to these bills, the lack of income from from Anne (driving for a delivery service we are all familiar with) is going to be felt and hit hard in this picture of what a good American family should be.
It is for this and many many more reasons I implore anyone who has ever been touched by, seen or even read of the devastating effects of unexpected and uninsured medical situation to please consider any amount as a donation. I will continue to emotionally support this guy and his unbelievably sweet and kind wife. I only wish there was more I could do for these two, thus I make this plead to anyone and everyone.
