Hello!

To be Frank, my name is Cody. We are a group of young adults making yet another short film! Our last short, “A Murderous Melody” was made as a university major production. Once we did this, we got quite the taste for it. Having been accepted into quite a few festivals from this film, notably the Central Coast Film Festival, it was about time that we looked beyond Murderous to our new project, Sunspots. Sunspots is a coming of age story set in the… beating heart of the central coast, The Entrance.

Here is the synopsis!

Jack, a young adult living in The Entrance, feels lonelier than ever. Consumed by his own overthought narrative, he releases an outburst on Instagram Live, declaring that he would leave town to never be seen again. Through his actions, the potential last day in The Entrance provides the challenges required to change his perspective. With chance encounters from familiar faces, they inevitably lead him on a path to much needed self actualization, and acceptance.

For this film we are really trying to capture the look and feel of The Entrace as a destination and as such we are looking to shoot the majority of the film in the suburb to make sure that we are authentic to the environment whilst also being truthful to the experience of growing up in the modern day.

Last time around, we ended up having a fairly successful fundraiser, which far exceeded our expectations. We are still incredibly grateful for the opportunity provided by the donors and we are hoping that with the help of some generous donors we are able to take this film to the next level that what was previously accessible. Below I have attatched some screen shots from our pitch deck so that you can get a feel for what we are aiming for with our film.
