Hi, my name is Sunshine and I am trying to raise funds to pay hospital bills incurred when I had a heart attack at only 46 years old. I was married at the time, but a few short months later, my husband left me. I am now a single mother of 2 and spent 20 years as a stay at home Mom. I am trying to get my life together and figure out how to support myself, but now I also have over $20,000 in hospital and ambulance bills to cover. The heart attack itself was stress-induced from trying to take care of everyone and everything, but it was more than I could handle. I allowed my sister to move in and I took on her legal troubles, her alcohol addiction treatment and failures, her anger issues stemming from a brain injury at birth and her financial problems. I was completely overwhelmed with her and I also had my own family to care for as well. In late November, it was just too much and I ended up having a heart attack. With my youngest still in elementary school, I have not yet returned to work. I am working on finding a job, but it will never be enough for supporting my kids and paying these bills. They were around $100,000, but I applied for financial aid and was granted a partial discount. While I am very grateful for the charity care, I am still left owing $22,500. I am unable to afford all the monthly payments put together because my bills come from several different places including 2 different hospitals and 2 different ambulance companies. The minimum payments they require all together are way more than I can pay monthly. I am working 7 days a week trying to earn as much as possible, but the stress of trying to pay these bills just might lead to another attack. I would much rather be working these hours to help my daughter pay for college, but sadly I cannot do that right now.
