Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer on August 2. Because the tumor is large and growing fast it is a late stage.
The bone and lung scans were clear.
August 23rd, she had her first chemo treatment. She gets about an hour of pre-treatment drugs - to protect her from the side effects of the chemo drugs.
She gets 3 chemo drugs and a drug that targets HER2+ cells. Her tumor is HER2+, Inflamatory Breast Cancer.
She will go home with a device on her arm that will deliver a Neulasta shot 24 hrs after her treatment. It boosts her white blood cell count.
She will have 6 treatments. One every three weeks.
She will be going in once a week to talk to her doctor and get blood drawn to monitor her blood counts. Eventually, she will have surgery.
Susan is the sister of my heart. We've been best friends since high school. She stood at my wedding and held my hand when I delivered my first child.
Everyone who meets Susan instantly can't help but love her! Her smile is infectious.
If we had 1/10 of her positive attitude we could move mountains. She is a hero to her friends.
She is an artist and free spirit who loves animals and the great outdoors. Our lives are better for knowing her.
She just wants your prayers. I'm asking for your financial help as she will not be able to work as she is used to.
