2022 Community Fest & Sunshine Fire Protection District Fundraiser

Back by popular demand, our 2022 fundraiser for the Sunshine Fire Protection District will continue to be an online/mail-in affair. However, as a new/historic twist, we will be throwing a Community Bash to celebrate our Sunshine neighborhood as a finale for the fundraiser. We are also busy designing unique Sunshine-themed merchandise for purchase at the Community Fest instead of coupling it with the fundraiser.

2022 Community Fest will be an in-person event, so please mark your calendar for Saturday, October 22nd, from 2-6 PM at Station #2 on Sunshine Canyon Dr!

All are welcome! Come up and enjoy your neighbors, play some games, and hear how much our community raised for our fabulous fire department. We promise Chief Schmitt will keep his speech to under 5 minutes.

As a resident or property owner in the Sunshine Community, the Sunshine Fire Protection District, our all-volunteer fire department, is your “First Responder” if an emergency response is needed. These responses can consist of but are not limited to house fires, wildfires, medical emergencies, hazmat, or car/cycling accidents. This dedicated organization of volunteers has been faithfully serving the Sunshine community since 1969, in large part thanks to the generosity and support of our community members.

Your SFPD consists of 30 volunteer firefighters who are all wildland fire certified and/or EMTs. Our generous volunteers are committed to this great community and have not hesitated to run calls during the COVID-19 pandemic and the current Monkeypox outbreak. They sincerely care about your health and safety and are committed to responding to the community day or night. Regardless of the need, they are always first on the scene. They continuously train throughout the year and are ready to serve Sunshine residents, neighboring districts, and the general public.
With the funds from this year's fundraiser, SFPD is looking to purchase other equipment that will enhance the response and safety of our first responders. Some of these items include purchasing new AEDs, a truck cabin air filtration system for firefighters on wildland calls, a thermal imaging camera, chainsaws, replacing radios for better communication throughout the district, and updating our 20-year-old pager and projector used during training. These updates will cost at least $25,000.
Your continuous support, both physically and financially, is needed and greatly appreciated. Therefore, please consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Sunshine Fire Protection District.

SFPD aims to raise $25,000 with a stretch goal of $30,000. If you have the capacity, please give to our GoFundMe campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/f/sunshine-FPD-2022. If you prefer to give by check, you can mail or drop one off at Station 1 mailbox Sunshine FPD, 311 County Road 83 Boulder, CO 80302. Please provide a contact email address and/or phone number with your donation.

NOTE: gofundme adds a 15% “Tip” for the gofundme organization on every donation. If you are not interested in this extra charge, just under the donation amount, change the tip amount to 0% by moving the green slider from 15% to the left to 0%.
