They say that when it rains, it pours but what they forget to mention is that the sun shines again so that is why we are calling this fundraiser "Sunshine for Shannon". Last year Shannon (Gault) was in an accident that caused her to be out of work for several months due to a fracture on her left arm and after only a few weeks back to work she was rear-ended by a drunk driver a block away from work on New Years Day. The impact caused her vehicle to go into the vehicle in front of her and she had to be extracted from her vehicle using the jaws of life. As a result of this accident, Shannon has fractures in her neck, back and ribs. She has already had 2 surgeries to try to repair some of the damage as she has limited use of her left arm and is unable to move the right side of her body independently. The team overseeing her continues to run tests and may do another surgery to place a rib stabilizer. Her prognosis is fair however she will need approximately 4 months of rehabilitation. Shannon always has a smile on her face and it is hard to imagine the amount of hardship she is going through just as she was starting to get back on her feet.
