My mom, Susie Shkolnik, was recently diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. She underwent a tumor removal surgery which has left her with a temporary ( we are praying it is temporary) Illeostomy... in essence a Colostomy. Her husband, my step-dad of 35+ years just passed away this past week. Their main source of income has been Social Security. Susie is also a very creative seamstress and does various sewing- for-hire jobs. Since the passing of her husband and best friend, there are many accumulated financial unknowns. She is currently in the midst of radiation and chemotherapy as well as preparing for a re-construction surgery. God has been faithful, as always He is! Many friends and family have stepped up and asked how to help, so I thought this was the best avenue to take being that she is unsure weather she will be able to afford her rent and co-pays and car maintenance, etc.. on her current income, ie. social security and  sewing for hire. Losing a life partner is difficult enough...but to add this huge health issue and reduction in income has just been a heavy load. So many thanks to all who have been used and continue to be used miraculously by our Heavenly Father. Currently Susie is driving 30+ miles round trip for Chemo and radiation in her 22 year old car. Many friends have generously stepped up to help out, still I am concerned for the endurance of her car. Though I do not have an exact monetary amount for all of the above issues, I am just hoping to ease the burden of this extremely difficult and challenging time. Flowers are very thoughtful and meals have been greatly appreciated but in lieu of all that, monetary blessings will ease some hugely present stressors. In short and to the point, she is in dire need of more reliable transportation and money in the bank for rent and unknown medical expenses that seem to keep popping up.
