#SunnySavedMe

In 2009, Sunny was thrown from the Clark Memorial Bridge into the Ohio River and left to die. Resilient and strong, she swam to shore and was rescued by Kelsey Westbrook. Kelsey and friends began the organization Saving Sunny, Inc. (savingsunnyinc.org) -- an organization that exists to reduce the flow of Pit bull Terrier Type dogs into shelters and to advocate for equal treatment and social justice not only for Pit Bull Terrier dogs, but for all walks of life. Last week, Sunny was taken to the vet for dental care. Upon examination, a mass was discovered in her mouth. The mass required near-immediate attention. After extensive surgery to remove a mass, Sunny was diagnosed with oral sarcoma. The surgeons were able to get about 90% of what was visible from the mass, but CT scan shows it reaches laterally into her face behind her eye. Currently, Sunny's momma, Kelsey (co-founder of Saving Sunning, Inc.) is exploring options for Sunny as they await additional diagnostic results. The surgery, diagnostic procedures, and medical care will require extensive financial (emotional, mental, and physical) resources. Whether you adopted from Saving Sunny or if the organization has impacted you in anyway, we ask that you show your support for Sunny. Sunny is responsible for changing the rhetoric about Pit bulls in Louisville. Tag your photos of your pitty family with #SunnySavedMe and share on Facebook and/or Instagram.

Friends and supporters started this page to provide assistance and relief for Sunny and her parents, Kelsey and Jamie - Thank you for your support.
