Sunny's Fight for Life: Donate to Her Care

Sunny is a 8 year old German Shepherd with a heart of gold! She loves everyone that she meets big and small. She has the most gentle and loving soul you could ever imagine. Sunny started her life by living in a kennel for the first 4 years and then she was adopted by a wonderful owner who loved her dearly. Unfortunately their time together was cut short and her owner passed. She was then taken in by her new mom to give her the best life possible. Sunny was spayed in 2020 and the surgery that she had at that time caused Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. In 2022 she had an additional surgery to remove the growths and that surgery was unsuccessful. In 2023 an additional surgery was performed by a new doctor. At that time, the surgery turned into a major procedure because her spleen was compromised and had to be removed. Sunny’s fate was touch and go for the next 24 hours following surgery but she made a full recovery! In October 2024 the unimaginable occurred! Sunny’s stomach bloated and she was rushed to a specialty hospital where she was diagnosed with GDV “bloat”. Her mom was given two options, to euthanize immediately or surgery. Sunny had so much more life to live! She deserved the fighting chance to have the surgery. The surgery was successful but her liver has some issues and she will need to continue medication for the next month until her numbers improve. She is currently home with her family and continues to heal. A long road to recovery but her mom is determined to continue helping her.
