Help Sunny Days Provide Patient Scholarships

Who we are:

Sunny Days was formed when I saw a need in our community. A need to help those in our Athens, GA community with mental health, life skills, and preparedness after high school as a means to overall better quality of life. All of this came about when my son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, graduated from High School in 2021 and I saw very limited resources for helping him succeed as an independent young adult.

What we offer:

Our fun activity-based therapies, ART, MUSIC, and RECREATIONAL Therapy, allow patients to work on Mental Health and all the goals that can be achieved in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy but without the waitlist! We also offer life skills classes and group classes in our bright, colorful, joyful space in Athens! We serve all ages and all abilities. This special needs community is what my heart beats for. These therapies and classes bring joy to all who attend. Plus, we have an incredible staff who make the magic happen!

Scholarships that these funds will provide:

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for patient scholarships!

25 individuals will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

This $1,000 scholarship will allow each person to receive:

1 - intake assessment and treatment plan

9 - 1 on 1 therapy sessions with the therapist of their choice (ie. art, music or recreation)

Our Passion:

We love helping others. All funds donated will go to new patients who cannot afford desperately needed services. We also pride ourselves in helping our patients find external scholarships for one-on-one or group therapies. Most of the time, patients must have a specific diagnosis to qualify for those external scholarships. We can also provide scholarships to existing patients once their external scholarships have expired! We love that we can offer options to patients who would otherwise fall through the cracks.

I want nothing more than to help our community. Although I know we’re just getting started (almost 6 months since opening on April 1st), I’m incredibly grateful to be on this journey and beyond excited to see how we can help everyone (neurotypical and special needs) within our community.
