Sunflower Oven is Expanding!!!

Sunflower Oven is thrilled to announce that we are expanding into our very own storefront bakery!

Yes! Y’all read that right. The Sunflower Sprouts will have a new work space, and we cannot wait for y'all to hang out with us while we bake!

We are raising money to help cover the expenses of setting up our new space and installing our equipment. This move is a big step for us. We could not have done this without incredible support from our friends and community. We believe in Jackson, and it feels right to further our roots into this soil for years to come.

Sunflower Oven was born five years ago. What started as a weekly popup bakery in a bar grew into a full-time cottage bakery. We’re now a cooperative team of four, meaning that all of our workers are also owners. Through our slow and intentional growth, our values and goals have only deepened. Our medium is grain, and our artwork is bread, and with it, we aim to tell a story and to transform our culture.

We are honored to be your bakers, and we take this role seriously (but not too seriously, we are the perfect amount of serious). Bread is called the staff of life for its essential role in our culture. We believe that Jackson should be rich in beautiful and nutritious food, and we want to have a hand in making such wealth available to as many people as possible.

We are well into the process of getting our space up and running. Sometime this spring, you will be able to come visit us, watch us work, and buy fresh and nutritious bread hot out of the oven. We have so many plans for this new space: a small retail area, pop-up dinners, sandwiches and pizzas at lunch, occasional live music. We love our Jackson community, and we hope to make Sunflower Oven a place where we all can gather, break bread, listen, learn, and support one another.
