Sunderland - Half Marathon - For St Benedict's Hospice

I'm running the Half Marathon in Sunderland on May 11th 2025. I decided to challenge myself to this run in honour of my Godfather, John Atkinson, who sadly passed after his fight against cancer on 23rd January 2025. He passed peacefully at St Benedict's Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

John's courage throughout his fight was amazing. Always smiling and wanted everyone to be happy around him. I will always be grateful for being able to spend all the time we did nearing the end. He was there for me through every step of my life and I will always cherish all the good memories shared with him. I will miss him greatly every day.

I will remember your strength throughout the run, and everyday John!
