A 2026 Swinburne Graduate short film about vulnerability, and how our responses to failure define who we are.
Sunder is a reflective piece set in rural Australia during the Millennium Drought. It follows a young farmer’s journey to maintain his family's sheep farm, but perhaps there’s something in his life that’s more important... the time he has with his mother.
This is a regional story, one that gives voice to the reality of many isolated farmers.
These are the stories that go untold, a motivation for our team to bring this project to life.
The film is directed by Daniel Gransden and produced by Mia Dunstone.
It will be shooting in early March across two separate farmlands in North East Victoria.
We need your help in order to tell this story; any donation, big or small, will help bring this short film to life.
Your contribution will be used to help cover the costs of the production process. This will include transport of cast and crew to and from set locations. It will help us afford accommodation and full catering across the shooting period. Donations will also help cover creative costs like production design and additional equipment hire. Importantly, funding will also help cover the cost of safety officials and animal handlers on set to ensure cast and crew remain safe.
5% of every donation will be put towards Rural Aid Australia, supporting farmers and rural communities through natural disasters and building a stable future.
Every contribution matters, no matter how small, and we thank you for your consideration and support in our film.
