Summits for Sebas--Fundraiser for a Cure
Tax deductible
“ Cinco Summits for Sebas”
We are hiking 5 summits in New Mexico to raise money for childhood cancer research and we need your help!
In October 2021, at age two, Sebastián “Sebas” was diagnosed with Myoepithelial Carcinoma (MEC), which metastasized to both his lungs. MEC is an extraordinarily rare and aggressive cancer with a high rate of recurrence and, when metastatic, a low rate of survival. Sebas’ parents Michael and Naomi are on a mission to find a cure, so they launched a nonprofit, cureMEC, to fund the research to save Sebas’, and others with MEC, lives.
Sebas is now 4 years old and has endured 10 rounds of chemo, 6 surgeries and has had 3 relapses in the past year. As he fights for his life, we are beside him fighting as well. In late 2021, cureMEC partnered with the Children’s Cancer Therapy Development Institute (cc-TDI) to establish the first Myoepithelial Carcinoma (MEC) research program, in honor of Sebas. This study aims to advance our knowledge of MEC, explore and test treatment options, and work to develop a cure.
Since he was a baby, Sebas has lived his life with fearless determination. His big bright smile is contagious, and his passionate spirit is always looking for adventure.
In that spirit, Rachel, one of Sebas’ honorary Tía’s, and her partner Adam are launching their “Cinco Summits for Sebas” campaign. They will hike a minimum of 5 New Mexico summits before December 1st, spreading love across the state and raising money for a cure. Your role? Support Team Sebas with your donation TODAY to help fund a cure for Sebas and others with MEC. Donate $25/summit or any amount you can!
All proceeds will go to cureMEC whose fiscal agent is the Partnership for Research and Education. To learn more about Sebas’ story, go to www.cureMEC.org.
