Meet our beloved 6-month old puppy, Summer. She had a rough start to life, as she was found abandoned with her littermates. After being taken in by a local shelter, we had the wonderful chance of adopting this sweet girl. Ever since bringing her home, she has been a bundle of energy and joy!

Her misfortune unfortunately continues. Shortly after adoption, we noticed she had a limp that would come and go. She began to sit oddly and refused to put her hind leg down. This raised significant concern for our pups health. After two vet visits and imaging we now know she is in dire need of surgery to correct a genetic defect in her knee.

Summer is already experiencing grade 4 patellar subluxation. She is currently unable to walk on her hind left leg. Her knee popping in and out of place has placed strain on her tibia, causing it to bend. Without treatment, it can be destructive, and limit her quality of life as her knee is no longer able to stay in place on its own. We are hoping our community that loves fur babies as much as us can help us help her.
