Summerfield Stables

Please help us in fundraising to feed the ponies at Summerfield Stables!

Summerfield Stables is a community group that was established in in 1970. It is a registered charity with the aim of encouraging children and young people in the Yardley Wood area of Birmingham to understand and interact with horses. The young people who visit the stables range from the age of three upwards and come from the surrounding areas, including Yardley Wood, Hall Green, Balsall Heath, Kings Heath and Billesley. We aim to be as inclusive as possible of children with both mental and physical disabilities and work with a variety of children who struggle to achieve in mainstream education. The work of the stables is heavily oversubscribed and we currently have a waiting list of over 100 children. Due to covid there is more need of our services than ever and yet the costs are continually rising. The annual food bill alone for our 26 equines is over £20.000. Our is to raise £20,000 which should cover the feed costs for 2022 and help secure our work in the community in very uncertain times.
