Summer Dodge Help with Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Summer was involved in a car accident on October 3rd, 2022. Summer was found unconscious on the floorboard of her car but breathing on her own, just not well. EMS did field intubation and transported her to the hospital. She was internally bleeding from her abdomen, she had opened her bladder, which they fixed, and she nicked her Spleen, but they were able to pack it and put the powder stuff on it to get it to stop bleeding. She has multiple skull fractures, and her C1 and C2 vertebrae are fractured. The right side of her face has several fractures that require facial reconstructive surgery. Her jaw is fractured, and so is her nose. She has contusions or bruises on both lungs and several cracked ribs. She had an aortic dissection in her abdomen that was repaired through Surgery. She also broke her femur, and they just closed the open wound and added a pin to keep her from moving it, but they will have to operate on that as well. She has had a craniectomy to relieve the pressure from her head. She also had a severe stroke on the left side of her brain. Her medical bills will be pretty costly, and she will need help to cover all the current and future needed expenses.

Summer is a bright and shining star; her light touched so many people in this world. She had three families, her blood family, friend group family, and work family. She was always concerned about others, always happy and smiling even when she was sad. Summer’s warm and kind personality gives life to any gloomy moment. She was always active and spent so many years playing sports. When she was only 3 years old she started gymnastics and left so many people in awe as she won first place so many times, competing with girls older than her, for years and years. She won many State Championships, and the trophies and medals were endless. She continued on to play soccer and then basketball because of her love for team sports; she truly loved to share the spotlight. Both she was so amazing at, but she had a hard time choosing which sport to focus on in high school because of the conflicting seasons, and she ultimately chose basketball due to her love for the sport, despite being told she was too short! Summer was always the absolute best at everything she set her mind to. She still holds records for three-point shots for the girl's basketball team at her high school, McKinney North. When she wasn't working, she is a great Auntie to her nieces and nephews, an amazing Godmother to her godchildren, and the best sister and daughter anyone could ask for. We are continually praying for her recovery and are asking for help with her medical expenses.
