Meet Jessica, an 8 year old girl living in South Carolina. She was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. When I met Jessica she had no language, a sweet smile and was very attached to her mother. She would often engage in problem behaviors. I met her the week of her 3rd birthday. It didn't take me long to fall in love with this little girl, as did the therapists who also worked with her.
Jessica worked very hard for 5 years. ABA therapy provided Jessica with the tools she needed to speak, learn and grow. Just recently, she "graduated" from her ABA therapy program. I'm so proud of her and all that she's overcome. With this break from therapy comes concerns of what will she do next.
Summer break is around the corner and having Jessica attend a day camp would be very beneficial for her. She'll be able to continue to work on her social skills and overcome some anxiety she still possesses. If Jessica is kept engaged and active we're hoping there will not be any regression.
Jessica comes from a single parent home where her mom just barely makes ends meet. Going to a summer camp just isn't something her mom can afford. If we can send this sweet little girl to camp it would not only make her happy, it could quite literally be life changing!
Thank you in advance to those of you who are able to help!!!!
The money you donate will allow Jessica to attend camp for the entire summer. I'm hoping to have the money raised by June 1st, since camp starts on June 11th.
