In addition to teaching our students content, we also aim to develop our students' abilities to work together in a team-based environment. In order to grow these leadership skills and to stimulate active collaboration, we have decided to take our students on a field trip to NC State's Challenge Course on Saturday, July 27th. The first part of the day will consist of ropes courses and critical thinking challenges. The second part of the day will be a tour of NC State's campus.
The $2,000 will be utilized as follows:
$1,250 for participation fees (50 students/chaperones x $25 per person)
$400 for lunch (50 students/chaperones x $8 per bag lunch from TruDeli)
$100 for use of school bus (200 miles x $0.50 per mile)
$250 for bus driver
We must raise the funds by Friday, July 26th so that all of our students may participate.
Last school year, not one child from Northampton County High School was admitted to UNC Chapel Hill or NC State, our very own state universities. This field trip will give our hard-working students the chance to visit a university campus they otherwise do not have access to. In addition, it will provide our students with a unique opportunity for character building outside the traditional classroom setting.
Thank you so much.
